The most iconic mountain in Berguedà.

Pedraforca is one of the most unique and beloved mountains in Catalonia. Its unmistakable shape, with the two polygonal peaks separated by the fork, has made it a symbol and myth of our country. A mountain steeped in history and legend, offering both trekking routes and beautiful climbing ascents.

With my experience as a guide and my personal connection to this mountain range, I suggest two ways to experience it: trekking or climbing.

Ascension in Pedraforca (2,505 m)

Climbing the "Piedra" is an intense and accessible experience for anyone interested in the mountains. The route to the Pollegó Superior, via the Coll del Verdet and the climbing area, is one of the most renowned classic climbs in Catalonia.

I can adapt the activity according to your level: from the summit climb to more leisurely circular routes that allow you to enjoy the views over the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park and the Pyrenees. It's an ideal day to experience the power of this unique and iconic mountain.

Oh! And top it all off with a signature mountain rice dish at the Lluís Estasen Refuge.

Climbing Pedraforca

Pedraforca is also an extraordinary playground for classic and sport climbing. Its walls and channels offer historic and challenging routes, as well as beginner options.

Some of the climbs I suggest:

  • North Face: Estasen Route, Homedes (great mountain classics).
  • South Face: Camino del Trueno Route, Cerradura.
  • Cabirols Wall: Civís Genís Route (beauty and alpine atmosphere).
  • Lower Pollegó, El Roget: Wild Boar's Direct Route.
  • Introduction to the Witches' Canal: a different option for experiencing the mountains in a fun and progressive way.

Always safe and adapting the day to each participant's level, climbing Pedraforca is an experience that will leave its mark.
